Amazon’s Ring Acquisition, Competitors are Stepping Up

In the most recent example, Logitech’s Circle Safe Home subscriptions are now available. They are designed for homes with multiple Circle 2 cameras.

For up to five cameras, a Circle Safe Basic Home subscription costs $6.99 per month or $69 per year. Circle Safe Premium Home is $17.99 per month or $179 a year. Both options provide additional storage compared to the free tier and other nice features including person detection, motion zones, and more.
There are two different Circle 2 options to select from – a wired and battery-powered version. On Amazon, the wired option is $178.75 while the battery option is $198.09.
Last week, Canary announced a new pricing program for its camera line that bundles a membership option. When purchasing a 1-year or 2-year membership, buyers will receive a substantial discount on the camera of their choice.
A Canary membership offers a number of additional features length videos, unlimited video downloads, desktop streaming, and more.
August recently added a 24-hour free video storage option for its video doorbell line. Previously, you needed a $4.99 monthly subscription to view any recorded video.
Even though Amazon will let Ring continue to operate as a separate company, competitors are taking notice of the pull that the e-commerce giant commands in the marketplace. And that’s benefiting consumers.
