Weeding Out the Best Pot Apps for 4/20- A Couple Apps

This year, plan out your perfect 4/20 from the comfort of your smartphone.
As more and more states have legalized medical and recreational marijuana, the weed tech industry has bloomed along with it. Need some weed or edibles delivered? Want to find your nearest dispensary or choose just the right strain? Download a couple apps, and you can start doing anything from flipping through a weed cookbook to setting up a date with a fellow ganja enthusiast.
Remember, these apps aren’t just for April 20. No matter what day it is, it’s always 4:20 somewhere.

Leafly

Leafly is a conscientious stoner’s best friend. Available for iOS and Android, Leafly has detailed info and reviews on different cannabis strains, a guide to doctors who write marijuana prescriptions, nearby dispensaries, basic info like how an indica strain is different from a sativa, and even cannabis news and legalization updates. If you want a nice-looking chart that tells you whether a strain will make you feel energetic or relaxed and whether to expect dry mouth or dry eyes, Leafly is your go-to.

Eaze

It’s Uber for weed. There really is no better, simpler way to put it. Eaze delivers pot in about 15 minutes to medical marijuana prescription holders who live in the various counties in California where marijuana is now legalized for recreational use.

MassRoots

MassRoots is the largest cannabis social network. The app, available for Android and iOS, lets you check out weed-related content and local news, and post pictures or videos of your Instagram-worthy flowers or 4/20-related activities. You can also rate and recommend strains, read info and reviews, and check out all that dank content your “Buds” are posting in your social feed.

High There

It’s a buzzkill when you meet someone and find out you don’t share the same interests. With High There (iOS, Android) enthusiasts won’t face that problem. They can swipe right or left on someone after seeing how that person likes to consume weed—whether they’re a slow stoner or still super-productive—and how they like to spend their high times.

Merry Jane

Don’t forget about Snoop Dogg’s cannabis media tech startup. Merry Jane is a weed media site with a lot of dank content, but the company also has a useful app for Android and iOS. The Merry Jane app has a news section with stories on weed business, culture, and health, a dispensary search engine with deals, menus and reviews, and a product catalog where you can browse and buy flowers, edibles, concentrates, and topicals.

Potbot

For medical patients who need a bit more detailed clinical information than you’ll find on Leafly, Potbot is a better bet. The app, which is available for Android and iOS, uses peer-reviewed scientific research to recommend strains in the local area that have the best chance of relieving a patient’s symptoms. The app provides medical personalized treatment recommendations on cannabis strains and consumption methods for a patient’s specific ailment based off of their previous cannabis experiences.

Weedmaps

Weedmaps, available on Android and iOS, is a marijuana dispensary finder with listings throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. You can browse menus and strains, see products and watch dispensary tour videos, and even find medical marijuana doctors in the area. You can also find deals and browse products, and even post about your experience on Weedmaps Social.

Weed Cookbook

Go beyond the brownie with Weed Cookbook (iOS, Android). Edibles are a tricky thing, so having a few tested recipes to try is the best way to approach cannabis cookery. Weed Cookbook is a paid app, but you can also use free ones like Cannabis Cookbook Lite

SimLeaf

For growers, SimLeaf is a cool iOS app that lets you simulate a grow and adjust settings within a 3D environment. You can choose factors like strains, light, temperature, humidity, water levels, nutrients, and pH level to simulate what it’s like to grow a real cannabis plant based on real scientific data.

Stone Road Rewards

California-based cannabis company Stone Road recently rolled out a new rewards app for its products. If you’re near one of its Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Palm Springs, or Orange County locations and want to earn some points when buying Stone Road’s hand-rolled joints and concentrates, download the app for Android or iOS.

Weed Joint Battery Widget

Weed Joint Battery Widget (Android) can’t do anything to get you or your battery high, but this joint-based representation of how much power your phone has left is amusing.

420 Clock

Who said your Apple Watch is a waste of money? It’s 4:20 somewhere and this Watch app will tell you where and when.
