Heads up, Pokemon Go
lovers: Halloween is approaching and your favorite game is getting into the
ghoulish spirit.
From Oct. 26 through
Nov. 1, you’ll notice increased Candy Rewards throughout the game, the Pokemon
Go team announced Monday. On those days, you’ll earn double the amount of Candy
every time you catch, hatch, and transfer Pokemon.
Plus, select Pokemon,
like Haunter, will appear more often in the game, so you can add a bunch of
spooky creatures to your Pokedex.
“If you encounter more
spooky Pokemon than normal, don’t be startled, they want to enjoy the fun too!”
the Pokemon Go team wrote in their announcement. “Scare up some friends, grab
your buddy and enjoy this spooky, fun celebration with us!

Pokemon Go developer
Niantic earlier this month announced a new capture bonus, which you collect
when earning medals for catching certain types of Pokemon. Trainers can work
their way to a new tier by catching a number of same-type Pokemon. If a monster
has multiple types, your bonus amounts to the average of your bonuses for each
type.
Just be careful while you’re
out hunting for Pokemon. A Twitch game streamer was recently assaulted and
mugged while streaming his Pokemon Go session live from Central Park in New York City . The game,
of course, requires players to walk around and catch Pokemon in various
locations, but perhaps Central Park after
midnight should be added to the list of places not to catch ’em all.
